Michael Ball believes Ryan Kent could leave Rangers this summer after their exit from the Champions League.
Steven Gerrard’s side were beaten 2-1 by Malmo last week, confirming a 4-2 aggregate defeat that saw them eliminated from the competition at the third knockout round.
The Scottish giants were severely disappointing in the play-off, which came about after their defeat to Dundee United in the league.
Do you think Kent is worth £20m?
YES
NO
Kent actually laid on two assists in the qualifiers against Malmo, one in each game, but reports have again linked him with a move to Leeds United.
Ball believes that his exit from Ibrox is now more likely than ever, and can see him potentially making the move to Elland Road should a bid be tabled.
Speaking exclusively to The Transfer Tavern, Ball said: “More likely now than ever. Unfortunately, being out of that Champions League, good players want to be playing at as high a level as possible.
“Financially, it’s obviously hit Rangers as well but also that disappointment for all the players. Ryan Kent has been linked to leave the club for quite a while, Leeds have obviously been the strongest contenders.”
Kent has a contract with Rangers until 2023 and has made a total of 132 appearances for the club, scoring 27 goals and laying on 30 assists. He is valued at £12.6m by Transfermarkt.
