Hamish Carton has been speaking on the latest 67 Hail Hail YouTube video as he discussed how new signing Josip Juranovic may fit in at Celtic.

The Bhoys announced that they had agreed a deal to bring the Croatian to Celtic Park before their 6-0 thrashing of St. Mirren at Celtic Park. Juranovic arrives as a full international, having made 10 appearances for his Croatia, who he represented at Euro 2020, including in their group clash against Scotland.

Despite their defeat in the Champions League qualification round to FC Midtjylland, Celtic have made a solid start under Ange Postecoglou, losing just once domestically and in the Europa League.

Carton gave his thoughts on how Juranovic may settle into the Celtic side.

“Josip Juranovic came in yesterday, a five-year deal, I believe, which seems very good for a guy who I think is 26 years old, you’re theoretically tying him down for the best years of his career.

“Without knowing too much about him, I think he’s the exact kind of fit you’d look for at Celtic. He’s very similar to the likes of [Carl] Starfelt and Kyogo in terms of age and experience.

“I think he’s a guy who’ll come in and should be able to adjust to Celtic very quickly. Hopefully Artur [Boruc] has given him a wee hand with that as well. This isn’t a project signing, this is a guy who should come in and be our right-back pretty soon.”

TIF Thoughts on Celtic’s business…

So far this season, Celtic have been playing with Anthony Ralston at right-back. With the Scot just 22 years old, bringing in someone like Juranovic, who has experience at both club and international level, could help Celtic as a side as well as help Ralston with his development.
