Celtic fans have responded online with delight to the latest update regarding one of the club’s key transfer targets.

As reported by Sky Sports (11:06), Celtic are now looking to finalise a deal for Legia Warsaw’s Josip Juranovic having given up on their pursuit of Yan Couto from Manchester City.

The Brazilian is believed to be unconvinced at the idea of a move to Scotland and is also being chased by Braga, so the Bhoys have instead turned their attentions to Juranovic, who is valued at around £2.5m.

Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas shared the update on his Twitter feed and it didn’t take long for a number of Celtic fans to have their say.

What did these Celtic fans have to say?

“Yesssssssss.”

@aboutceltic

“Superb. Get him signed.”

@CelticLisboaa

“Give Legia what they want.”

“Please…………..@CelticFC.”
“Get the boy in pronto.”
“Get this done Celtic”

After a run of recent wins – including a 3-2 victory over Hearts in the Premier Sports Cup – Celtic fans should have plenty to smile about at the moment.

If the club go on to sign Juranovic, it could be an important piece of business as they look to claim the Scottish Premier League title back off Rangers.

Celtic face AZ Alkmaar this Wednesday in the Europa League, so even if a move for Juranovic does happen, it is unlikely that he would be ready to feature in that match.

Nevertheless, fans clearly believe he could be a positive addition to the squad in the long term.
