Journalist Anthony Haggerty has rated Celtic’s transfer window and believes they have done some good business during the summer market.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have embarked on an aggressive recruitment strategy as they look to compete with Rangers at the top of the table.

Celtic have signed Kyogo Furuhashi from Vissel Kobe, Carl Starfelt from Rubin Kazan, Liel Abada from M. Petah Tikva, Josip Juranovic from Legia Warsaw, Joe Hart from Tottenham Hotspur, James McCarthy from Crystal Palace and Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide from Sheffield Wednesday.

Will Celtic win the league this season?

No

Haggerty believes that another centre-back is required before the window slams shut, but is confident that Celtic have enjoyed a solid enough window as they aim to close the gap to Steven Gerrard’s side.

Celtic have, of course, endured a difficult start to the season, being knocked out of the Champions League at the qualification stage, and losing to Hearts in their opening game of the season, before bouncing back with wins over Dundee and St Mirren.

He said: “I would probably give it a seven. I think there’s elements of a player in Carl Starfelt, he just needs to settle down. Juranovic, very happy with the recruitment of Juranovic.

“They now have two right-backs who are going to go hammer and tongs for that starting jersey. I would still like them to bring in another centre-back.”
