Celtic fans have been reacting to the performance of David Turnbull during the club’s match against Jablonec in the Europa League.

Celtic managed to put up a good show in the first leg of their Europa League qualifier against the Czech side, coming away with a 4-2 victory to take back to Celtic Park, although, with away goals not part of the equation this year, it’s still very much all to play for in the second leg.

However, just because they came away with the victory, doesn’t mean that everything was alright for them on the night, with the performance of Turnbull brought into question by the supporters online.

Last year was an incredible one for Turnbull as he scooped both the Player of the Year and awards at the club as well as being named in the PFA Scottish Premiership Team of the Year and picking up the PFA’s Young Player of the Year gong.

But clearly, he wasn’t able to bring his form from last year into this game, at least according to the fans who ripped into his display on social media:

“Turnbull doesn’t fancy this chasing back gig does he”

“Turnbull is never a Celtic player in a million years.”
“Don’t know what’s up with David Turnbull so far this season .. He just doesn’t look the same”
“David Turnbull is absolutely dreadful.”
“David Turnbull is having a really poor game, we know he’s better than this. Defence is still very shaky”

“Turnbull starting to frustrate anyone else or just me?”

No, he's not that good

No, he's not that good

Let’s wait and see if this game was just a one-off after his performances last year, or if perhaps a sign that last year might just have been a flash in the pan.
