The post also contained an article from the official club website that revealed that Hart has signed on a three-year deal from Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, while McCarthy signed a four-year deal, having left Crystal Palace at the end of last season.

This post then quickly grabbed the attention of a lot of Hoops supporters, who were not shy in sharing their thoughts and feelings on this latest news.

So, what did these Celtic fans have to say in response to the news of Hart and McCarthy’s arrival?

“2 very good signings imo, much-needed experience and quality”

@ATcfc88

Starting to feel a bit more positive now. Keep them coming @CelticFC

@Dani1987C

“Brilliant”

@AGlasgowBhoy94

“Now you’re talking”

@gerrygreen1888

“Absolutely stunned we’ve signed 2 players in a day haha, brilliant business”

@conorkeenan98

Wow, had to rub my eyes for this one Not bad for a million quid between the two of them, now we’re getting somewhere”

@JordanM495

“Brilliant news. Hart is a top goalkeeper and McCarthy is a hardened midfielder, which is exactly what we need. Why not do these deals earlier though? If they had been done, the place would be buzzing and we’d still be in CL. Edouard OUT and Nisbet IN please.”

@superted63

Looking at the replies to this post, it’s clear to see that these Celtic fans are delighted to see both Hart and McCarthy join Ange Postecoglou’s side.

No

Given how Hart (340 appearances) and McCarthy (272 appearances) have both got a vast amount of experience playing in the English Premier League throughout their careers, it’s safe to assume that they will be able to use this experience to offer Celtic and their current crop of players with some leadership and guidance, which could prove to be a big help for some of their younger players, in our view.
