In an article on the club’s official website, they claimed that Strachan “will spend his time looking at our activities within our Football Academy, our Women’s Team and newly established B Team, with a view to providing recommendations to Chief Executive Dom McKay on how we can develop these areas further, feeding into wider work ongoing across the Club”.

This post then quickly grabbed the attention of a lot of Hoops fans, who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest development.

So, what did these Celtic fans have to say in response to this news about Strachan?

This is absolute nonsense @dom_mckay1 Strachan’s views on Scottish youngsters and women in football are from the dark ages. A shambles of a decision.”

Looking at the replies to this post, it seems as though these Celtic fans are not particularly happy to hear about Strachan’s new role at the club.

Given how the 64-year-old has experience of managing the club during his reign from 2005 to 2009, it’s easy to see why the club have offered him this consultancy role.

However, given how he has also been in trouble previously for his comments regarding racial abuse in football, in addition to not having a major club role since 2010, it’s easy to see why these fans aren’t happy to see him back at the club.
