Celtic fans have been discussing Odsonne Edouard following comments about his future at the club.
The Frenchman has been subject to plenty of speculation about a potential move away from Celtic Park this summer. English Premier League side Leicester City were reportedly ‘in advanced talks’ to sign him a couple of months ago, with Arsenal also reportedly showing an interest.
However, he still finds himself at Celtic Park and has even played in all of Celtic’s games so far this season, only managing to notch one assist in that time.
Speaking about his performances to Football Insider, former English Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny believes that his displays might have put a number of clubs off trying to sign him this summer:
“They might be having second thoughts now. I don’t care if he’s looking for a move, when you put that shirt on you’re doing something that millions of people would love to do.
“If you can’t go out there and give 100 percent then you’ve got a problem. I’m not having it for one minute. If I was a scout for a club I’d be concerned that he’d down tools for my club. I don’t get it one bit.”
His comments were relayed to fans by the Celtic Insider Facebook page, where they seemed to be pretty desperate for him to leave the club at the earliest opportunity:
Should Celtic sell Edouard already?
There’s still time left before the window officially closes, so Edouard does still have some time to put in some good performances to convince teams to make a move for him. Whether he is able to will be a different matter.
