A whole host of Celtic fans have reacted positively on Twitter to the latest comments from their captain, Callum McGregor.

The Celtic captain took the armband from Scott Brown this season after the midfielder departed for Aberdeen and took part in a pre-match press conference ahead of the club’s Europa League qualifying second-leg match against FK Jablonec.

McGregor spoke about what he expects from his players and said (as per Jo Hendry): “We have a responsibility to the supporters, to this club, to the badge, that every time we set foot on that pitch we give everything. That’s what I want from the players.”

The midfielder clearly takes being captain very seriously and knows what it means to give your all for the club and the fans.

Many fans appear to be delighted on Twitter following McGregor’s comments.

Celtic fans, can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players? First up: who is this?

The midfielder has taken over from Brown during a turbulent time at Celtic Park, as they lost their long-time captain as well as bringing in a relatively unknown manager in Ange Postecoglou.
