Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on the Chasing Green Arrows YouTube channel to discuss all things transfer-related.

The Italian journalist discussed Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves’ future with rumours surrounding his future at Molineux.

Will Neves leave Wolves this summer?

Yes

Yes

No

No

The Portuguese midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away from the Old Gold this summer, with Manchester United and Arsenal reported as potential landing spots.

Neves has been a consistent name in the Wolves starting XI over the course of the past four years, where he has racked up a total of 176 appearances across all competitions (via Transfermarkt).

Discussing where Neves’ future may lie, Romano had the following to say on the matter.

“He has chances to leave Wolves this summer if the right bid will arrive. So they are not desperate to sell him.

“And the player is really respectful. I’m told also in training and these kinds of things, he’s been really professional.”

TIF Thoughts on Neves’ future…

We think it is refreshing to hear how Neves is reportedly handling his transfer speculation as he continues to attend training and allow the relevant people to find a resolution to his future.

Perhaps this should be the minimum fans and clubs should expect, however, it can be seen in the instance of Harry Kane’s transfer saga that it does not always play out in an amicable fashion.

However, with three years left on his contract, we feel Wolves could demand a pretty hefty fee if they do wish to sell him.

But with just a matter of days remaining until the start of the 2021/22 Premier League campaign, we think if they are to sell, it would be better to do it sooner rather than later in order to purchase a sufficient replacement in time.
