Football journalist Ryan Taylor has been sharing some details on Wolves’ reported interest in signing Valencia winger Goncalo Guedes this summer.

This comes after Taylor made an appearance on a recent video from the Mirror Football YouTube channel, where he spoke about a number of transfer-related subjects concerning a range of Premier League teams.

On the subject of Wolves’ interest in Guedes, Taylor had this to say on the matter.

He said: “They’re starting to look at potential reinforcements.

“Goncalo Guedes from Valencia is a player they’ve been linked with quite a few times over the past two years.

“He’s got the [Jorge] Mendes links as well, also Portuguese.

“He is one of the players that they will consider if Adama [Traore] leaves.”

TIF Thoughts on Ryan Taylor’s comments on Wolves’ interest in Guedes…

Guedes, who is now valued at £22.5 million (as per Transfermarkt), originally joined Valencia on a loan deal from French club Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 before signing to the La Liga side on a permanent deal in August 2018 for a fee of £36 million.

Overall, the 24-year-old has made 138 appearances for Valencia across all competitions in which he has managed to score 23 goals and provide 24 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

As Taylor mentioned, given how Wolves winger Adama Traore has been linked with a move to fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur recently, we feel that if this move were to happen, then Wolves will definitely have to make a move to sign another winger such as Guedes to potentially replace the Spaniard.

Do you think Wolves should sign Guedes this summer?

No

However, even if Traore ends up staying at Molineux this summer, perhaps signing Guedes wouldn’t be a bad move from the club anyway given how Pedro Neto could well be out of action through injury until February.
