Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth has revealed some insight into Kurt Zouma’s proposed move to West Ham United.

The Chelsea man has been linked with a move to the Hammers plenty of times over the past few weeks and it looks as if that deal is soon to get over the line, with the Frenchman’s medical well underway at the time of writing.

While speaking on the Transfer Talk podcast, Sheth revealed where Zouma was doing his medical, how much he was targeted by David Moyes and what the key issues in the deal were.

He said: “Kurt Zouma is looking close, from Chelsea to West Ham United – £25m transfer. The personal terms were the big stumbling block, it seems that that’s all been sorted.

“He’s been having a medical in Paris during the week, and that one looks like it will get over the line. He has been, throughout this transfer window, David Moyes’ primary target in the central defensive position.”

TIF Thoughts on Kurt Zouma and West Ham…

Having been part of the Chelsea team that won the Champions League last season as they keeping nine clean sheets along the way, there is little doubting Zouma’s quality.

The French defender has also proven his pedigree on the international stage, featuring for his county on eight occasions – though he has yet to play at a major tournament for France.

Perhaps this is because he hasn’t always been a regular starter at Chelsea. For instance, he failed to feature in the Champions League final despite being named on the bench.

The defender may well see West Ham as a chance to establish himself as a key player, with plenty of European football on the cards as well for the Hammers this season – and this could put him back into the frame for international football again.

If the deal does go through, it could be of great benefit to all parties.
