Dean Windass has tipped West Ham United to make a late transfer window swoop for Tammy Abraham.

Abraham has been an outcast since Thomas Tuchel took charge at Chelsea in January, with the frontman making just seven appearances under the German.

A host of clubs have been looking to pounce and Italian giants Roma have agreed a £34million fee for Abraham.

However, The Athletic reporter David Ornstein revealed Abraham is unsure of a switch to Serie A and Windass thinks West Ham should hijack the move.

The Hammers – along with London rivals Arsenal – are reportedly weighing up a late bid for the 23-year-old, who boasts six England caps.

West Ham boss David Moyes is looking to bolster his squad after a club record Premier League points tally sealed a spot in the Europa League.

However, the east Londoners still only have one recognised centre forward in the form of Michail Antonio and ex-Premier League frontman Windass believes Moyes could come up with a clever proposition which would please Chelsea and Abraham.

Nice easy one to start off with. How much do you think Declan Rice is worth?

He exclusively told TIF: “I think West Ham could try and get him on loan with a view to a permanent deal.

“They could then see how he does and stay on the safe side. They could give Chelsea so much of their valuation up front and then if he does well by January, give them another £10million or £15million.

“West Ham could meet Chelsea’s price tag in instalments.”
