Spurs fans have been reacting to the latest update on reported target Takehiro Tomiyasu, which suggests that he wants a move to the Premier League.

According to Italian news outlet Corriere Dello Sport (via Hotspur Related), the Japanese international is pressuring Bologna to let him make his dream move to England’s top-flight.

Spurs have been heavily linked with the defender throughout the transfer window and although they have brought in Cristian Romero, it seems as if a move for the 22-year-old Bologna man could still be on the cards if sporting director Fabio Paratici can agree on a fee.

Should Spurs sign Tomiyasu?

Both Toby Alderweireld and Juan Foyth have left Spurs on permanent transfers this summer, whilst only Romero has been brought in as a centre-back alternative, which suggests that they could still do with another defensive option.

Whilst Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez have performed fairly well in the games thus far, Spurs fans know all too well that they can be error-prone, so bringing in more competition can only be a good thing for Nuno Espirito Santo.

Tomiyasu is also capable of playing as a right-back so could be a great versatile option for the North London club, whilst his arrival could also lead to Serge Aurier’s exit.
