Tottenham Hotspur went top of the Premier League following a 1-0 win against Watford on Sunday afternoon, with Heung-Min Son’s goal free-kick enough to separate the sides.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have now won all three of their Premier League games 1-0, which leaves them as the only side with a 100% record in the top-flight.
One man who impressed in the win against the Hornets was Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, with Spurs fans quick to praise the £36m-rated Danish midfielder on Twitter following the game.
What did Spurs fans have to say about Hojbjerg?
“Say what you want about Hojbjerg but for £15m he’s probably one of the best pieces of business this club has done in years.”
“Not the best performance but 3 points in the end. Højbjerg by far MOTM didn’t put a foot wrong today.”
“Hojbjerg was a beast today but Sanchez was on another level.”
“Hojbjerg was phenomenal today. What a player.”
“Hojbjerg is definitely every coaches dream regarding intangibles. No surprise he thrived under Hassenhuttl & Mourinho (yes) while Pep really spoke well of him.”
“Hojbjerg is a demon.”
Was Hojbjerg good vs Watford?
Hojbjerg was able to control the midfield superbly against Watford and has started the season in superb fashion for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Considering the Lilywhites have three clean sheets from three Premier League games, a lot of credit must go to the imperious Dane for his performances in midfield, and he was all over the pitch in today’s win.
If he can keep up this form for Spurs, then they look as if they will be very difficult to beat this season.
