Hotspur Rob Guest has been speaking on a Facebook Live video to discuss potential incomings and outgoings at the north London club.

One name which has been heavily linked with a potential summer switch to Spurs over the last 24 hours is Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.

Would you rather see Martinez signed or a new centre-back?

It has been claimed the two clubs have agreed on a fee worth in excess of £60m for the 23-year-old striker, who is wanted to play alongside Harry Kane.

However, the claims were marred by the suggestion the fee had been agreed on before Inter agreed to allow Romelu Lukaku to depart in a potential deal with Chelsea.

Speaking on whether a deal for the striker could be possible now Lukaku is expected to join the Blues in the coming days, Guest had the following to say.

“Inter, obviously, ideally don’t want to sell both their main strikers, but then what happens with them financially is going to have a big impact on whether Martinez does become a player or wherever he does remain at the San Siro.

“His agent’s already made it clear he’s happy in Italy. He’s happy at Inter Milan, but as we reported on Football.london this morning, the player is keen on the move to join up with his fellow Argentina internationals in Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero at Tottenham, but no personal terms had been agreed.”

TIF Thoughts on the Martinez rumours…

The reports to emerge have suggested Martinez is wanted to play with Harry Kane despite the speculation surrounding the England captain’s future.

This ties into previous claims insisting Nuno Espirito Santo would like to sign another striker as he aims to convert into a two-man attack.

However, if Spurs do expect Kane to stay, then is the reported £60m+ best spent on another weapon for their attack?

The addition of Cristian Romero was certainly a step in the right direction, in our opinion. However, we still feel another top-class centre-back is needed to partner him.
