On the latest edition of The View From The Lane podcast, The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke has been speaking about Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur.

On Wednesday, the Spurs striker confirmed he would be staying with the north London club following a summer of speculation surrounding his future.

Will Kane leave next summer?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Kane made his first start of the season under the new Spurs boss, Nuno Espirito Santo, on Thursday night in their Europa Conference League qualifier against Pacos de Ferreira.

It didn’t take the 28-year-old long to get his name on the scoresheet as he provided the Lilywhites with a two-goal lead inside the first half.

Spurs turn the attention back to Premier League action this weekend and Pitt-Brooke had this to say on whether Kane will make his first Premier League start of the season against Watford.

“Clearly Kane will be starting for Tottenham sooner rather than later. I imagine he will start the Watford game.

“I guess the question, really, given that Kane and Son will certainly start is, do you drop Lucas [Moura] or [Steven] Bergwijn? And I’m really enjoying Bergwijn at the moment.”

TIF Thoughts on Kane at Spurs…

If the reports are to be believed, then there is no doubt Kane did wish to leave the north London club this summer with Manchester City said to be his favoured destination.

However, he has come to accept a potential deal is no longer an option and vowed his commitment to the Lilywhites after the summer of speculation.

We have no doubt it will be business as usual for Kane this season now he has put the prospect of a move behind him and we are interested to see if he will slot straight back into the team on Sunday against Watford.
