Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has been speaking on the latest YouTube video from the Last Word On Spurs channel to discuss all things transfer-related.

Discussing potential last-minute deals which Spurs could get over the line on the final day of this summer’s transfer market, Bridge spoke about Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Adama Traore.

The Spanish winger has been linked with a potential reunion with his former manager Nuno Espirito Santo this summer in a deal which could be worth in the region of £40m.

However, reports have since emerged suggesting the Midlands club have rejected Tottenham’s initial approach as they insist the 25-year-old is not for sale.

Speaking about the player’s stance on a potential move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Bridge had the following to say on if a potential move could happen.

“Traore, I’m told he wants to come, to not completely rule it out. So we’ll wait and see on that one.

“Wolves haven’t completely ruled that out, either. They’re not as flush as they were, they need to stay across FFP; over the last few years, they’ve spent heavily since their promotion from the Championship, it all catches up. So we’ll wait and see on that one.”

TIF Thoughts on Traore to Spurs…

We think that given it has now come down to the final day of the transfer window, it would take a huge sum of money to prise the Spaniard away from Wolves.

Traore has employed Jorge Mendes in the past few days, with some believing this to be a way of paving a potential move to Spurs in this summer’s market.

However, when you look at the Spaniard’s stats from the last few seasons, you could question whether he would provide that much of a boost to this current Tottenham side.

Last season, Traore netted twice and provided three league assists. In comparison, Lucas Moura was able to find the back of the net three times and provide four assists last campaign, so whether bringing him in would be money well spent is certainly up for debate.
