A whole host of Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted negatively on Twitter over Alasdair Gold’s latest claim on the future of Davinson Sanchez.

Gold has claimed that a centre-back will have to leave Spurs this summer, before another one can follow Cristian Romero through the door with Sanchez the one who is attracting some interest, specifically from Sevilla.

Do Tottenham need to sign another CB this summer?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Writing for Football.london, Sanchez’s future is unclear because “the one who is attracting interest, Davinson Sanchez, is currently the most in-form of the centre-backs, having put in superb displays against City and in the final pre-season friendly against Arsenal.”

A lot of Spurs fans were fuming when @TheSpursExpress relayed Gold’s latest update on their transfer business and Sanchez’s future:

What are these Tottenham fans having to say?

“2 good games in 3 years and suddenly he’s crucial to the team I hate it here”

@kanefromthelane

“Then he should’ve added a little value. That’s the problem with this club, one good performance and everyone falls back in love with the bloke”

@justinsteichen

“How about, for once, let that net spend creep a little further beyond the £0 mark and buy another much-needed CB even if no one leaves.”

@kca1981

“Excuses already……..colour me surprised. Nothing will change”

@joshgracey98

“If we get rid of Sanchez for Zouma we’re finished as a club”

@harrycjh

“Most in-form? What about the dreadful season he lad last season? One-off game against City and he’s the most in-from centre back”

@GavHolmes

Tottenham have so far managed to bring in three players this summer in the form of the aforementioned Romero, Bryan Gil and Pierluigi Gollini but after losing 1-0 to Pacos Ferreira in the Europa Conference League, more may be required.

Test your knowledge of these Tottenham players' market values! How much do you think Hugo Lloris is worth?

Nuno Espirito Santo has seen both Toby Alderweireld and Juan Foyth leave the club on a permanent basis this summer but has only been able to bring in the sole centre back which would mean that they are likely to be more vulnerable when it comes to quality at the back, because they certainly have the quantity, especially if injuries occur.
