A number of clubs have been linked to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this summer, with AC Milan and Leeds United two of the clubs heavily tipped as potential landing spots for the 20-year-old.

However, Thomas revealed the north London side are also showing interest in the winger, who has been nicknamed as the ‘Georgian Messi’.

Discussing the possibility of Spurs making a late move for the Rubin Kazan forward, Thomas had the following to say on the matter.

“I know they’re also interested in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who plays for Rubin Kazan in Russia. Georgian player, 20-year-old.

“I think it’s interest at the moment. I mean, the last update I had with it was a few days ago, which is that it was still in its early stages.

“The expectation is that Adama Traore is the one they want at the moment. Things can change very quickly at this point in time. So, you know, let’s see over the next few days, but only interest at the moment, I think, in terms of Kvaratskhelia.”

TIF Thoughts on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Spurs…

The £16.2m-rated winger clearly carries a lot of expectation on his shoulders to his projection to the world stage as he continues to impress in the Russian top flight.

Despite this, we struggle to see Spurs making a real effort to sign him this summer given they have already acquired young winger Bryan Gil.

Gil has similarities to Kvaratskhelia in the sense of them both playing in the same position, so we find it difficult to see Spurs limiting Gil’s opportunities by bringing in a similar style of player.

However, we are interested to see how far Spurs are willing to go in their reported attempts to sign Adama Traore this summer, with Spanish reports suggesting a fee of €46m (£39m) has been agreed.
