Dean Jones spoke about what he has been told regarding Adama Traore’s future and how Spurs may structure a deal to sign the winger on The Football Terrace’s The Done Deal Show.

Reports have started to ramp up in the last few days that Tottenham Hotspur are seriously looking to sign Traore this summer, and these reports have surfaced since they faced off against the winger during their 1-0 victory at Molineux last Sunday.

It has been suggested that Spurs are wanting to sign Traore on loan with an option to buy the Spain international next summer, but it is believed that Wolves are wanting to receive £40 million for their winger this transfer window, according to Jones.

Jones gave his verdict and insight about the Traore to Spurs situation.

“I was told look, wherever Nuno goes, he will sign Adama Traore. So then he went to Tottenham, and I was like, but Adama Traore doesn’t really fit here, they’ve got players that could already do that, like I don’t understand how he comes.

“But I’ve always had it in my mind and I’ve said to people, Adama will probably be a Tottenham target, and here we are. It looks like it will be a loan initially with an obligation and I think the reason that’s come to the table, really, is that it gives them time to give Wolves the value that they’re looking for.

“Wolves are adamant that they want this £40 million, and I think that by doing it this way around, it’s easier, from what I’m told, it gives them time to put all the terms in place that would satisfy that.”

TIF Thoughts on Spurs wanting Traore…

Spurs are already quite well-stocked out wide with regular players to feature over the past year being Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn, but bringing in Traore would replace the void left by Erik Lamela, even though he would apparently cost £40 million and be a totally different player now at Sevilla.

A nice easy one to start off with, who is Tottenham's record signing?

Given that the Spaniard has managed to register just 14 assists in 142 Premier League appearances, Traore would not likely bring much production in the final third to Tottenham, so Harry Kane may not be licking his lips at the thought of playing with Traore if he stayed at Spurs this summer.
