Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to news surrounding two of the club’s players ahead of the upcoming international break.

News recently emerged that defender Cristian Romero and midfielder Giovani Lo Celso have both been called up by the Argentina national side for their upcoming games against Venezuela, Brazil and Bolivia in the next round of qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.

It certainly is an honour to be called up to represent your country, but given the current climate, it represents a number of complications.

Starting with a current Tottenham star. How many PL goals has Harry Kane scored for Spurs?

Given the current restrictions that are in place as it pertains to Argentina and large parts of South America, should they travel with the team for the games, they would be forced to isolate upon their return to the UK, meaning they would be forced to miss the games against Crystal Palace on 11th September and Chelsea on 19th September.

News of their selection and possible predicament was picked up by The Daily Mail and relayed to supporters by @LastWordOnSpurs, which garnered a number of interesting reactions:

“Disgraceful TBH”

“Don’t let them go”
“Two hip injuries incoming”
“Terrible. Chelsea at home need to buy quick”
“Ugh”
“Stop them”
