A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have been venting their frustration on Twitter at what they had seen from Harry Winks in their game against Pacos de Ferreira.

The 25-year-old was making his first start of the season having spent Sunday’s game against Manchester City on the bench, with Oliver Skipp, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Dele Alli making up the midfield at the weekend.

Speculation has surrounded the Spurs midfielder this summer, with some reports suggesting the north London club would be willing to sell Winks. Everton were believed to be among those interested.

Spurs found themselves behind at the break after the hosts scored following a loose pass from Winks, and these fans were quick to share their frustrations with him.

What exactly did these Spurs fans have to say?

“Winks is a League 1 player”

“Winks just isn’t good enough. Not even at this level”
“If someone offers for Winks, take it.”
‘Winks is meant to be a senior player…… terrible in and out of possession.”
“Harry Winks is genuinely useless”
“It’s painful to watch Harry Winks play football”

Winks struggled to nail down a spot in the Tottenham starting XI last season in the Premier League, with just 15 appearances to his name across the campaign (via Transfermarkt).

Following his showing out in Portugal on Thursday night, it is apparent these Spurs fans have been left hugely frustrated by the experienced midfielder.
