On Matt Hayes’ latest YouTube video, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has been speaking all things related to Tottenham Hotspur.

One player which the Italian journalist has linked with a potential summer switch to Tottenham is the Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez.

Would Nandez be a good signing?

As the summer market draws to a close, Romano had revealed Fabio Paratici is viewing the 25-year-old as a potential option to add to their midfield.

The Serie A midfielder played a prominent role for Uruguay in this summer’s Copa America tournament, which saw him feature five times and provide one assist (via Transfermarkt).

Discussing where the midfielder views his future to lie this summer, Romano had the following to say on whether a move to Spurs could materialise.

“There is still no official bid. Still nothing advanced, but he’s one of the names that Tottenham have been enquiring in the last few days talking directly with Cagliari.

“The player is on the market because he’s desperate to leave Cagliari. He wants to try something new, and we’re talking about, in my personal opinion, an interesting player – really, really good. He could play in a three [in] midfield, he could play as a winger, he can play wherever in the midfield or in potential attacking positions because he’s really good.

“He’s a fighter. He’s always running for the team, so he’s also perfect for Tottenham’s style, I would say.”

TIF Thoughts on Tottenham’s midfield options…

It has been reported Spurs are potentially looking at moving on Moussa Sissoko this summer if a sufficient bid was to arrive for him.

The future of Tanguy Ndombele is also in doubt, with the Frenchman believed to be considering his future in north London after a turbulent pre-season for the 24-year-old.

With the future of some of Tottenham’s midfielders in doubt, bringing in a versatile option such as Nandez may be a good move for the Lilywhites.

Spurs showed a lot of fight in their victory at the weekend, and going by Romano’s glowing review of Nandez, it seems the player could be made for this new-look Spurs under Nuno Espirito Santo.
