Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on his latest Twitch stream to discuss all things transfer-related amid this summer’s transfer market.

The journalist spoke heavily about Tottenham Hotspur’s potential transfer dealings this summer and discussed the future of Ben Davies in particular.

Should Ben Davies be sold this summer?

According to Romano, the 28-year-old is a player who could be the next on his way out of the door at Spurs this summer, following the departures of Toby Alderweireld and Erik Lamela.

Davies joined Spurs back in 2014 from Swansea in a deal believed to be worth in the region of £11.39m but the Welshman struggled for consistent game time last season (via Transfermarkt).

The left-back has been linked with potential interest from Serie A side Napoli already this transfer market by journalist Ciro Venerato whilst speaking on Radio Kiss Kiss (via Napoli magazine).

Discussing where the left back’s future in lies, Romano had the following to say.

“Ben Davies is one of the next players who could leave Tottenham.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

We are a little bit surprised at Romano’s comments as there has not been a lot of transfer speculation surrounding the Welshman this summer – barring the Napoli link.

However, with Ryan Sessegnon returning from his loan spell at Hoffenheim it could be viewed as Davies’ chances of playing regularly have taken another hit.

Sergio Reguilon played prominently at left-back last season and will be hoping to continue his development in the Premier League having already earned himself 27 top-flight appearances.

Unless Nuno Espirito Santo was to play with a back three, we are struggling to see where Davies currently fits into the Spurs squad.
