Tottenham Hotspur journalist Alasdair Gold has been speaking on the latest episode of the Gold & Guest talk Tottenham podcast to discuss all things related to the N17 side.
One name which was spoken about was the Welsh centre-back Joe Rodon, who is yet to feature in any of their pre-season games to date this summer.
Should Joe Rodon be starting for Spurs?
Yes

No

The 23-year-old has returned to pre-season training after a delayed holiday following his efforts with Wales in this summer’s European Championship.
With veteran centre-back Toby Alderweireld having departed already this summer and Davinson Sanchez believed to be on the transfer list, this could be a big season ahead for Rodon.
Discussing the 23-year-old’s pre-season so far under Nuno Espirito Santo, Gold had the following to say.
“I’m told that some of the players, Joe Rodon included, were being put through double sessions at Hotspur Way. I think that’s been very much the feature of Espirito Santo’s pre-season – double sessions almost every day.”
TIF Thoughts on Rodon’s future at Spurs…
Rodon showed a lot of promise in his first season at Tottenham, in which he made 14 appearances across all competitions (via Transfermarkt).
Given there is now under two weeks until the start of the Premier League campaign, we think Rodon should be considered as a serious contender for the starting XI against Manchester City.
A potential deal for Cristian Romero is believed to be edging closer to completion, which may play a part in Rodon’s game time for the upcoming season.
However, following their defensive issues last season, we think Rodon should be given the chance to prove himself on a consistent basis under the new regime.
