Former Tottenham player Paul Stewart hopes that the club’s board will back new Director of Football Fabio Paratici with money this summer.
Tottenham have already concluded a loan deal to bring goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from Atalanta and journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that the club are still in negotiations for Gollini’s former teammate Cristian Romero.
As well as Gollini, Tottenham also completed a swap plus cash deal for Sevilla’s Bryan Gil, with Erik Lamela going in the opposite direction and joining Sevilla.
With a new manager and Director of Football at the helm, they are both going to want to make additions to the Spurs team and are going to need finances to be made available to spend, something which Stewart hopes happens.
“I’ve seen he’s [Paratici] got a good CV, I just hope that the board will back him,” Stewart told This is Futbol.
Last summer (2020) Tottenham spent £77million according to Sky Sports and whilst the club’s fans will be hoping for more of the same this summer, both the club and the fans will also be wanting to make sure that they get the right players who can take them back to the top four and challenging for the Premier League.
