Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts insists that a deal to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna will get done in the final days of the transfer window.

The club have been linked with a swoop for the Japan international throughout the window but there have been a number of issues holding the deal up.

Tomiyasu was selected in Japan’s squad for the Olympics, and sustained an injury while he was representing his country.

It has been reported previously that Spurs are confident of signing Tomiyasu this summer and Roberts believes that the deal will be done this weekend.

Indeed, he thinks that Bologna will allow him to leave provided Bologna’s asking price is reached in the next few days.

Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, Roberts said: “You read between the lines that he’s very unhappy there. He’s not happy with the money they’re asking for him.

“So are they going to keep an unhappy player? I’m not sure they will. I think that’ll be a last minute one. I think maybe Saturday, Sunday, Monday, something like that.”

Tomiyasu can play as both a centre-back and a right-back and has been with Bologna since 2019, making a total of 63 appearances for the club. He has also won 23 caps for Japan.
