Former Nottingham Forest star Nigel Jemson is concerned that the club are not adding enough experience to their squad in this transfer window.

Forest have endured a dismal start to the season in the Championship and are the only club in the league to lose all four of their opening four games.

They did progress in the EFL Cup, beating Bradford City 2-1 in the first round, but they were eliminated earlier this week, as they were thumped 4-0 by a heavily rotated Wolves side.

Do you think that Forest will be fine financially?

Forest have been active in the transfer window, bringing in the goalkeeper Ethan Horvath on a free transfer and loaning in Philip Zinckernagel from Watford, Jordi Osei-Tutu from Arsenal, and James Garner from Manchester United.

Horvath and Zinckernagel are both 26 but Osei-Tutu is 22 and Garner is 20.

Per Transfermarkt, manager Chris Hughton is able to field a team that has an average age of 22.7, and Jemson is worried that the club just do not have enough knowhow to succeed in the Championship.

Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, he said: “They all seem quite young lads that we’re targeting at the moment.

“That’s a bit of a worry to a certain degree because it is a tough Championship and it is a tough season. To have three quarters of your team under the age of 24, it’ll take its toll on them.”
