Newcastle fans on Twitter have been left fuming after Chronicle journalist Lee Ryder shared an update on Steve Bruce.

Despite the Toon having failed to win any of their opening four fixtures of the 2021/22 campaign, including Saturday’s draw against Southampton when they took the lead in added time, it seems as if the Newcastle board remain fully behind the manager.

Ryder, who reports on Newcastle United for the Chronicle, shared a link to his article on Twitter which suggested that there won’t be any reaction from the board during the international break.

How did Newcastle fans react to Ryder’s tweet?

“Won’t react until it’s too late. That’s the Ashley way.”

“Because Ashley knows nothing about football and employs people to run it who also know nothing about football.”

“Course they’re not. We’re 15th. He’s doing exactly what they want him to. A yes man, who should never have got the job. Same as many before him as well as the likes of Charnley.”

“We all know how this goes, if it is to be a relegation season which it does look like it will be, then he won’t sack him until it’s far to late, it really doesn’t matter what we do Fat Ashley does not listen to us never has and never will.”

“With these 2 clowns in charge relegation is a certainty..boring to watch.”

“Of course they won’t. Or beyond that. This is the season we get relegated, it’s pretty much guaranteed.”

Should Newcastle look into sacking Bruce?

Although Newcastle ended up staying up comfortably last season after a strong run of form towards the end of the campaign, for much of the season Toon fans endured turgid, boring football and it looks as if they are set for another season of disappointment.

A nice and easy one to start off with, how much is Callum Wilson worth?

The likes of Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson mean that Newcastle will always have a chance in games but if the board do decide to stick with Bruce rather than sacking him, then the Toon look set for another long hard season in the Premier League, so it is easy to see why so many fans are frustrated with this update from Ryder.
