A whole host of Newcastle United fans have reacted positively on Twitter to Keith Downie’s tweet surrounding Joe Willock.
On Sunday evening, it was reported that the Magpies had agreed a deal with Arsenal to sign Willock on a permanent basis after the midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at St. James’ Park.

Willock was a revelation during his short stint on Tyneside netting a record-equalling seven goals in seven straight top-flight appearances, while Steve Bruce has made it no secret that he really admires the midfielder and wants him back at the club.

Last week, fans spotted Willock had liked a photo on Instagram that claimed he was travelling up north to Tyneside, although this rumour was quashed on the same day.
Bruce will presumably be delighted to get Willock through the door and even more so as he’d be the first new face into the club given they are still the only club yet to make a signing this summer.
