A whole host of Newcastle United fans are furious on Twitter following Keith Downie’s tweet about David Brooks.

It had been reported earlier this week that the Magpies could be interested in the Wales international after chief scout Steve Nickson was pictured watching Bournemouth against Hull City, with Lee Ryder claiming Brooks could have been the player Nickson was watching, however, Sky Sports’ Downie poured cold water on that rumour, stating that the club weren’t in for Brooks.

Do you think Newcastle should sign Choudhury?

The Magpies have only managed to bring in one senior signing this summer for the first team which was Joe Willock, who arrived from Arsenal for £25 million, following his loan spell on Tyneside in the second half of the previous league campaign.

A lot of Newcastle fans are annoyed on Twitter with this Brooks claim.

What have these Newcastle fans had to say?

“Booooooo”

@nufcoliverr

“This is the first I’ve heard of this and I’ve already been let down before I could even get my hopes up”

@thomas_millman

“SHOCK”

@jacknicholson92

“Boycott the ground enough is enough! Mike Ashley out!”

@DiscoDan18

“Course we’re not Keith – the only thing we’re competing for is a relegation spot… yet again!”

@itsH4RKY

“Any incomings at all today Keith?? Club is a shambles at the moment and the fans need a big lift”

@Rickle_Pick86

Newcastle’s squad can be perceived as being weaker than at the end of last season having brought Willock back from Arsenal, as well as having seen Andy Carroll leave as a free agent and Matty Longstaff depart on loan to Aberdeen.

A nice and easy one to start off with, how much is Callum Wilson worth?

Steve Bruce has previously admitted that he would ‘love to bring in some more‘ players this transfer window, although his desire appears to have not been heard by Mike Ashley and Lee Charnley.
