Newcastle United fans have been reacting to the performance of Joelinton during their Carabao Cup tie against Burnley.
Despite coming to the club for a record transfer fee in the summer of 2019, it’s fair to say that the Brazilian forward hasn’t been able to live up to the price tag, only scoring ten goals over the past two seasons up on Tyneside.
And even when he gets given an easy chance to try and improve that record, like playing against a somewhat weakened Burnley side in the Carabao Cup, he just wasn’t able to find the back of the net, despite having numerous chances to.
It was no surprise then to see that there were a number of Newcastle fans who were left unimpressed by his performance and decided to let rip about the 25-year-old on Twitter during the game:
“How many times do we hear commentators saying about Joelinton “he has to score from there””

Even though he did manage to score in the shootout, hopefully he does manage to get amongst the proper goals soon, because he’s running out of time and chances to avoid being branded a ‘flop’ when it comes to his time at the club.
