After some news emerged regarding the possible sale of Sean Longstaff, the club’s fans took to social media to offer their opinions on the matter.

The Liverpool Echo has claimed that Sean Longstaff is being considered by Everton, with former Toon boss Rafael Benitez reportedly interested in the midfielder.

Benitez incidentally also gave Longstaff his Premier League debut in December 2018, and it looks like he would be interested in a reunion as he enters the last 12 months of his current deal.

NUFC 360 then shared the information on their Twitter feed and it didn’t take long before a lot of fans added their input.

What did these Newcastle fans have to say?

“Crack on lads.”

“Please be true.”

“Fine by me.”

“I’ll start the car….”
“They can have him for me, honestly wouldn’t be bothered at all.”
“All this money we are getting is going to fund the Willock deal.”
“I know he’s a local lad but he showed signs under Rafa. I think it’s a good move for him and NUFC £12-£14 million as on last year of contract is a good deal. Just my opinion. Willock, Hayden, Fraser, ASM, I don’t think he would get ahead.”

Judging from these comments, many NUFC fans don’t seem to be worried if Longstaff was to be sold – with some hoping his exit could speed up a deal for Arsenal’s Joe Willock.

Willock is reported to be close to signing for the Magpies after the two clubs recently agreed to a transfer fee in the region of £20m.

Longstaff featured 22 times in the league last season, but if the rumours are to be believed, he may have played his last game in the black and white of Newcastle.
