Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest transfer claim to emerge concerning the Tyneside club.

This comes after Newcastle-focused Twitter account @NUFC360 shared a post relaying news originally published in a report from The Express.

A nice and easy one to start off with, how much is Callum Wilson worth?

The report claims that Newcastle are “considering” a move for Chelsea duo Ethan Ampadu and Malang Sarr, who are “among a list of potential loan targets”.

The report also added that Toon manager Steve Bruce would have to pick between the pair as Premier League clubs cannot loan more than one player from the same team.

This post then gathered a number of replies from Toon supporters, who were not shy in airing their thoughts on this latest claim.

So, what did these Newcastle fans have to say in response to this latest transfer claim?

“Malang Sarr would be ideal just what we’re after a left-footed centre-back and he’s a decent player get it done Steve!”

@NATH_D2021

There is literally not even a choice GET MALANG SARR…. NOW! #NUFC

@davez2010

“Sarr yes please with option to buy please”

@LittleHenryD

Sarr all day long plus he was @asaintmaximin teammate at @ogcnice_eng Personally would love to see him at #NUFC

@seancavens

“Malang Sarr would be good he’s left-footed aswell which gives us a better balance”

@gbaznufc

“Sarr if that’s the case…”

@PaulSutcliffe80

Looking at the replies to this post, it seems as though these Toon fans have their preference when it comes to seeing their club signing either Ampadu or Sarr this summer, with the latter being the favoured option.

Who would you rather see join Newcastle?

Malang Sarr

Ethan Ampadu

Ethan Ampadu

Given how Sarr has yet to make a senior appearance in England and Ampadu spent the 2020/21 season on loan with Sheffield United, where he made 25 Premier League appearances with the Blades, it’s interesting to see that these Newcastle fans would rather have Sarr than Ampadu despite his lack of top-flight experience on these shores.

In our view, if Bruce is interested in signing either of the two defenders before the summer transfer window deadline hits, he should make a decision on who to make a move for based on who he and the club’s recruitment team thinks would be the best fit for the team and what they need.
