Newcastle United fans have been reacting to the Carabao Cup draw, which saw them drawn against Burnley.

The League Cup hasn’t been kind to Steve Bruce’s men over the years, with the club being knocked out in the second round in three of the past four campaigns, although they did manage to reach the quarter-finals last season before succumbing to then-Championship side Brentford.

A nice and easy one to start off with, how much is Callum Wilson worth?

Whether or not they will manage to do any better this season, we’ll just have to wait and see, but they have been given a tough draw to start off their campaign and they will welcome Sean Dyche’s men to St. James’ Park in an all-Premier League affair.

The news reached the supporters on social media and it’s fair to say that they were not too pleased when they saw the two names drawn together out of the hat, with some of them expecting it to be a rather boring affair under the lights on Tyneside:

“Was a good run lads”

“Good to concentrate on the league rather than get hopes up”
“Cup run was fun”
“Nice early exit for the lads”
“Genuinely the worst I could think of”
“Surely can’t be any admission prices for that”
“Tickets up for grabs soon for the mugs who still attend”
“Couldn’t think of a more boring game”

Will Newcastle be relegated this season?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

These responses seem a bit too pessimistic considering that the team haven’t even kicked a ball in anger yet, so it’s hard to tell whether or not they’re going to be good this season.
