Newcastle United fans have reacted online after a news story has claimed Steve Bruce wants a certain player signed on loan.

According to the Mail Online, Bruce is trying to force through a loan deal for Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury, with the midfielder open to a potential move.

The article adds that a number of Magpies players may have to first be sold in order to make enough space and money to accommodate the proposed new signing.

NUFC 360 shared this information on Twitter and it quickly caught the attention of the club’s supporters.

What did these Newcastle fans have to say?

“Ban Steve Bruce from recruitment meetings! The squad is bad enough without “his” players being brought in.”

“Selling Schar to bring in this. I hate this.”
“Joke of a club”
“If we sell Fabian Schär to bring in Choudhry I will actually riot.”
“Disgraceful”

As alluded to there in the fan comments, Newcastle may well lose some first-team players if they want the deal to happen. The Mail Online report claims the club would listen to offers for the likes of Sean Longstaff, Jeff Hendrick, Fabian Schar and Ciaran Clark.

It’s evident that a lot of Newcastle supporters do not see Choudhury as much of an upgrade on the players already in the squad.

With that in mind, if the deal does go through, Steve Bruce may upset a fair few fans.
