The midfielder is the son of former Newcastle ace Lee Clark and it has been claimed Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, has held face-to-face talks with the youngster over the move.

Newcastle fans flooded to a tweet from NUFC360 relaying the news to share their frustration at the Tyneside club for losing one of their young prospects.

What exactly did these Toon fans have to say?

“Becoming more of a joke club every day! We are soulless, a ghost ship losing our identity and something needs to be done. There must be something that will unite our fans behind a common cause that enables change – any suggestions”

“Rotten football club under Ashley”
“Very Disappointed…”
“Good morning NUFC, The gift that keeps on giving.”
“Club is dying, surely the time has come to protest properly.”
“Madness. Doesn’t use academy players yet says there’s no funds to buy players.”
“Pain”

The Chronicle’s Newcastle reporter, Lee Ryder, has reported the club will recoup compensation for Clark having lost him to the Merseyside club.

With the patience of the Toon fans already tested due to their poor start to the season, it is apparent this latest departure has not helped the club’s relationship with the fans.
