A whole host of Newcastle United fans have erupted on Twitter over the latest transfer update provided by Luke Edwards.

Following the Magpies’ second loss of the season as they went down 2-0 away to Aston Villa, Edwards has claimed that it will be ‘unlikely‘ that fans will see any more new players arriving before deadline day.

Will Newcastle make any more signings before the window shuts?

The reason why Bruce may not be able to bring in more players is that he feels like registering four goalkeepers could be a real possibility given Martin Dubravka’s injury setback and Karl Darlow still recovering from illness.

A lot of Newcastle fans have reacted negatively on Twitter to this latest transfer update.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

“Ashley has killed the club, but Bruce is also an enabler. Any self-respecting manager (especially one who calls themselves a supporter) would walk if left in this position. He allows MA to get away with this by publicly backing him over and over again. Relegated yet again.”

@adam_smith1990

“Relegation nailed on”

@k1ando2

“Takeover dead. Squad weaker than last year. Bruce and Ashley here for the long haul. If you offered me 17th right now I’d bite your hand off.”

@j0hnparker

“Going straight down!. Hope Ashley has money set aside to bankroll them in the Championship again…”

@paz_parish

“Absolute joke. No way do we stay up with the state of that squad. This club deserves everything it gets”

I don’t understand this, who’s took Carroll, Atsu, Saivet and Muto’s places? #nufc

@alexpoole19

“This is a massive worry. Everyone can see from the first two games that the squad is desperate for some additions #NUFC”

The only signing Newcastle have made this summer is Joe Willock, who has returned following his loan spell on Tyneside last season, with the Magpies splashing out £25 million on the midfielder.

A nice and easy one to start off with, how much is Callum Wilson worth?

Steve Bruce may have been surprised to see Ashley and Lee Charnley sanction and broker a deal for Willock as it was reported earlier this summer that his budget would only be a measly £10 million.
