Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga can replace Paul Pogba at Manchester United, says Adam White of Get French Football News.

Pogba’s future at Old Trafford is looking far from certain, with Paris Saint-Germain interested in signing the 28-year-old, who is into the final year of his contract.

Meanwhile, Camavinga has been linked with a move to United as he continues to shine at Roazhon Park. According to Sky Sports, the Premier League outfit are one of many clubs who are keen on the £49.5m-rated French youngster.

Ultimately, with Pogba possibly leaving United in the near future, the club may need somebody to come in and fill the hole left behind. And White believes that somebody could be Camavinga.

“They’re obviously different players, but they sort of would fit into a similar slot in the team,” the Ligue 1 expert told TIF. “Pogba is a more sort of creative and flair player, whereas Camavinga is a little bit more like [Tanguy] Ndombele.

“He’s sort of an all-rounder. He carries the ball really well, he drops back and pushes forward and plays that box-to-box role a little bit. He can pass and he perhaps plays with a little bit more intensity and is a bit more mobile than Pogba.

“Eventually, yes, he could replace him, but he’s got a lot of development ahead of him.”

At just 18 years of age, Camavinga does indeed still have plenty of developing to do, so United would probably not be expecting too much from the Rennes midfielder immediately.

From their perspective, though, they will be hoping to keep one of their star players and bring in someone like Camavinga as a complement.
