Italian football expert Conor Clancy believes that Atalanta player Robin Gosens is the best left sided footballer in the world right now!
The German international had a terrific season for Atalanta last season where he got on the scoresheet 12 times, and provided 10 assists in all competitions.
Gosens’ form saw him selected for the Germany Euro 2020 squad and he continued his fine form putting in a number of brilliant performances for his national side, as well as getting himself on the scoresheet and providing another goal against Portugal.
After his terrific display for both club and country, Conor Clancy believes Gosens is the best left sided player in world football right now, telling This is Futbol: “He is the best left sided footballer in the world and there are no arguments against that!
“Robin Gosens is a phenomenal footballer and as an Atalanta fan I was really, really happy that no one had noticed and then he went and did that at the Euros. That game against Portugal where he basically just beat Portugal himself! He is amazing, he’d fit in at any club.”
Premier League champions Manchester City were believed to be interested in Gosens earlier this year according to Sport, while Manchester United have also been linked. With the Cityzens not having a settled left-back amongst their ranks, rotating between Zinchenko, Cancelo and Mendy, could Pep Guardiola make a move for Gosens and use him as his first choice?
City will have competition for the signature of Gosens should they decide to go for him, with Forza Italian Football reporting that Juventus could make an approach for Gosens this summer.
