Sky Sports journalist Oliver Yew has been sharing his thoughts on Manchester City attacker Gabriel Jesus and whether or not his recent performance for the club playing as a winger could have any impact on a potential transfer for Spurs star Harry Kane this summer.

This comes after Yew made an appearance on a recent episode of The Sky Sports Football Podcast, where he spoke about a range of topics concerning numerous Premier League clubs.

Who scored the opening goal in Liverpool's 4-3 win over Leeds United at Anfield in September?

On the subject of Jesus, who picked up two assists during City’s recent 5-0 win over Norwich City from the right-wing position, Yew had this to say about the player and his recent comments saying that he enjoys playing on the wing.

He said: “I mean, that could be music to a certain Harry Kane’s ears should he come in.

“I think maybe Jesus knows something that we don’t, and he’s preparing for a centre-forward to come in. Because you’d think if a new centre-forward came into City, that Jesus’s role would be impacted, but we’re getting signs that that’s already happening, and it’s not happened much, but he was a menace down that right side.

“Some of those crosses were superb, and you’d sort of expect Jesus to be the one on the end of them, but if he’s providing that sort of ammunition, there’ll be plenty of goals for the other Man City stars, and who knows, it could be Harry Kane on the end of those.”

TIF Thoughts on Oliver Yew’s comments on Jesus and Kane…

Taking into account Jesus’ impressive display against Norwich that saw him pick up a solid match rating of 8.48/10, making him City’s highest-rated player on the day according to WhoScored, and the fact that Kane has been linked with a move to City this summer, it’s easy to see why Yew has said that the Englishman could well benefit if he does join City and Jesus continues to provide assists for the team from the wing.

Do you think Jesus should continue playing as a winger?

No

In our view, given how City have scored over 80 league goals in each of their four previous campaigns, it would make sense for Kane to join such a high-scoring team like Pep Guardiola’s side considering his ambitions to win trophies.
