Speaking on the latest episode of The Football Terrace’s The Done Deal Show, Dean Jones dropped a fresh claim on what he expects – and had expected – to happen with Harry Kane.

The England international has been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur and link up with Manchester City all summer, with the Premier League champions even lodging a £100 million bid earlier in the transfer window.

Do you think Kane will be a Spurs player for the rest of the season?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Jones has claimed that he ‘expected‘ Man City to lodge another bid for Kane last week which never materialised, and the striker ended up being named on the bench for Spurs’ 1-0 victory against Wolves, featuring for the final 18 minutes.

Jones dropped the claim about what he expected to happen with Kane last week and what could happen in the coming days.

“I was told to 100% expect the bid last week [for Kane] and I don’t know why that hasn’t happened, because people I’ve spoken to at City were so confident that Harry Kane’s joining.

“So to have such confidence like two or three people have that I’ve spoken to, yet be seeing Harry Kane turning out for Tottenham, be seeing no bid from Man City, we’re one week away from deadline. Is this just going to be a bid that comes in that surprises us all?”

TIF Thoughts on Kane’s future…

With the transfer window set to slam shut next Tuesday, time is certainly not Man City’s friend, as they now must get things moving if they are to get a deal struck with Daniel Levy to convince him into selling Kane.

Perhaps this is why Jones believes the club are readying one more attempt before the deadline passes.

Starting with a current Tottenham star. How many PL goals has Harry Kane scored for Spurs?

The Spurs star striker could be set to feature on Thursday against Pacos de Ferreira to get more minutes under his belt as every passing day suggests that his future will remain in north London.
