Liverpool journalist Neil Jones has been sharing his thoughts on the possibility of the Merseyside club having an interest in signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham next summer.

This comes after Jones made an appearance on a recent edition of The Redmen TV Podcast where he spoke about a range of transfer-related topics.

Who scored the opening goal in Liverpool's 4-3 win over Leeds United at Anfield in September?

During the podcast, Jones was asked whether or not Liverpool could have an interest in signing Bellingham next summer.

In response, Jones had this to say on the matter.

He said: “What price would be too much for Jude Bellingham at this moment in time? 18 years of age, he can be the focal point of your midfield for 10, 15 years.

“Liverpool should certainly be having a good close look at that.

“I do suspect possibly that their priorities will be further forward than Jude Bellingham come next summer.”

TIF Thoughts on Neil Jones’ comments on potential interest in Bellingham from Liverpool next summer…

Since joining the German club back in the 2020 summer transfer window from Birmingham City, the 18-year-old has made 49 appearances for Dortmund across all competitions in which he has managed to score four goals and provide five assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

Given how Bellingham, who has previously been mentioned with a move to Liverpool, praised Reds captain Jordan Henderson while they were on England duty earlier in the year, it would be interesting to see if Jurgen Klopp’s side do show any interest in signing the midfielder next summer.

In our view, given how Liverpool have said goodbye to Georginio Wijnaldum this summer, we feel that, because of his relatively young age, as Jones spoke about in the podcast, Bellingham, who is currently valued at £49.5 million, could well be a good long-term replacement for the Dutchman if the club doesn’t sign a new midfielder before the current summer transfer window closes.
