Former Leicester City star Steve Howey insists that PSV Eindhoven will not want to sell Noni Madueke this summer despite reported interest from the Foxes.

Sky Sports reports that Brendan Rodgers’ side are interested in signing the winger from the Dutch club before the transfer deadline.

They are not the only club being linked with a move, though, as Tottenham Hotspur and Wolves are also said to be lining up a bid.

PSV are said to have placed an asking price of between £30m and £34m on the teenager, a figure that may scotch his chances of any move to the Premier League.

Madueke came through the ranks at Spurs before moving to the Netherlands and he has made 43 appearances in the first-team for PSV, scoring 14 goals and registering nine assists.

A versatile presence, the teenager is able to play on the right and the left-wing, as well as up front.

And Howey insists that PSV will not want to move Madueke on, because his asking price is only likely to increase with more first-team minutes.

Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, Howey said: “I know a little bit about him but not a great deal. The club that he’s at, if he’s 19 and they feel that he’s got the potential, they’ll keep hold of him because they’re bound to get more money for him in another season or two.”
