All Leeds TV’s former presenter Joe Wainman insists that sections of Leeds United’s support do not want to sign Nahitan Nandez from Cagliari this summer, amid reports from Italy that they have resumed contact with the Serie A outfit over a move.
The Whites are reported to be interested in a deal to bring the midfielder into the club in this transfer window.
Would you like to see Leeds sign Nandez this summer?
A move to the San Siro appears to be edging closer, with Sport Witness carrying a report from Gazzetta dello Sport claiming that they are just €2m (£1.7m) apart in their valuations.
Nandez is a Uruguay international with 41 caps and he has made a total of 67 appearances in Serie A, scoring four goals and registering seven assists.
A versatile presence, he can play in central midfield, on the right wing, and in defensive midfield.
But Wainman believes that sections of Leeds’ support believe that he is just another Stuart Dallas, meaning that he is not needed.
The JustJoe Football Show host said: “I think a lot of Leeds fans were really big on Nandez. Certain sections just said he was just another Stuart Dallas so he’s not really someone that we needed. I don’t know if I agree with that comparison as such.”
