All Leeds TV presenter Joe Wainman believes that any young player that comes to the club and works under Marcelo Bielsa is going to improve.

This comes after Leeds completed the signing of Lewis Bate from Chelsea, with the young midfielder penning a three-year contract at Elland Road.

Bate made 20 Premier League 2 appearances last season for Chelsea, helping the club finish runners-up behind champions Manchester City.

Leeds fended off interest from elsewhere to secure the signing of Bate, with 90min reporting that Liverpool, Southampton and West Ham had all tried to sign the youngster, with Joe Wainman believing Bate will benefit from moving to Elland Road and working under Marcelo Bielsa.

“I think for us to secure his signature, I think there was a lot of big clubs after him as well, the way the under 23s is been run at the minute and the club in general, we seem to be picking up a lot of these young players that are wanted by other clubs,” Wainman told This Is Futbol.

“I think as well any young player that comes and works under Bielsa for me is just going to improve.”

Leeds’ U23s won Premier League 2, Division 2, last season by eleven points and subsequently were promoted to Division 1. Leeds reported that their new acquisition, will initially join up with the club’s U23 squad and so could come up against his former teammates at Chelsea this season.
