On the latest One Leeds Fan Channel YouTube video, Conor McGilligan has been discussing the latest transfer news regarding Leeds United.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been heavily linked with a potential summer swoop for Hertha Berlin forward Matheus Cunha.

Should Leeds be looking to sign Cunha?

A recent report to emerge from Italy has suggested Leeds’ interest in the 22-year-old will be tested by Russian outfit Zenit this transfer window.

Cunha is currently away with Brazil in their efforts to earn gold in the Olympics as speculation surrounding his future continues to be whipped up by his agent.

However, discussing the Yorkshire club’s reported interest in the Brazilian, McGilligan had the following to say on where he feels Leeds stand in the transfer saga.

“From what I understand, he’s on a long list. But Leeds have never really gone there and approached him and his representatives at all, to be quite honest with you.

“And it looks like his valuation would be £21.3m. He had a brilliant season last season. It looks like he’s going to be a high-profile player. For me, I’ve said this numerous times, it’s going to follow the Rodrigo de Paul saga.”

TIF Thoughts on the Cunha saga…

Initially, it was reported Hertha Berlin would be looking for a fee in the region of €40m (£35m) for a club to secure the signature of Cunha this summer.

And we thought this was a hefty price tag to cough up for a player who has had his injury issues during his time at Hertha and has failed to score more than seven goals in a Bundesliga campaign.

However, the newly reported €25m (£21.3m) is much more palatable for the forward and we think this is a price which should certainly be more appealing to Leeds this summer.
