Leeds United fans have been reacting to the performance of Helder Costa during their Carabao Cup game against Crewe Alexandra.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men haven’t got off to the best of starts this season, picking up just one point from their opening two games and conceding seven goals along the way, so a cup tie against a lower league side was the perfect opportunity for them to kick start the season. Although given their record under Bielsa in the cup competitions, that was no guarantee.

First up in this 2020/21 LUFC quiz, which of these players did NOT score against Liverpool in the 4-3 defeat at Anfield?

What certainly didn’t help their cause during the game, at least according to the fans who were watching the game, was the performance of the winger during the game.

Costa has been somewhat effective during his time at the club, amassing 8 goals and 11 assists so far in his Elland Road career, but it appears as though tonight just wasn’t his night and the fans were not afraid to let him know about it with their comments online:

“Llorente’s passing is unreal. Get him off at half time needs to start Sunday. Costa still absolutely garbage”

“Time for Costa to go. #lufc thank you for your time.”
“Rather start my arthritic nan than Helder Costa.”
“Helder Costa is not a professional footballer”
“That Costa shot sums him up more than any comment could. Summerville on please.”
“CoStA iS nOt GoOd EnOuGh”
“If ever there was a game to prove Costa was finished, it’s this one. The fact we’ve let Poveda leave and kept that clown is a disgraceful decision. #lufc”

Having not started in either of their league games this season, it’s certainly not the best way to try and convince Bielsa to pick him for the Premier League matches moving forward.
