Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest transfer claim to emerge concerning the Yorkshire club and their reported interest in signing Wolfsburg winger Josip Brekalo this summer.

This comes after @lufcfanzone shared a post claiming that via its source, which had originally informed about the club’s interest in the winger, has now alleged that “Leeds have pushed all the way” to sign Brekalo, but he will sign for Italian club Lazio in the coming days.

Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Mark Viduka but how many did he score?

They also added that they have been in contact with Leeds every day, but Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri “really wants the player”.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Leeds supporters, who were quick to share their reactions to this latest claim.

So, what did these Leeds fans have to say in response to this latest claim about Brekalo?

“Oh no this is not good”

@AlanLUFC_

“Seem to be having a bit of a ‘mare this window”

@alaw90719681

“Another one slips the net”

@jamesb338

“What’s going on this transfer window man”

@JackLUFC1919

“Letting every target slip through our hands”

@lufcj_

“Wonder how many other players have shafted us this window”

@Jack_T_92

Looking at the replies to this post, it seems as though these Leeds fans are quite concerned that their club have apparently missed the chance to sign Brekalo this summer.

If Leeds were keen on signing Brekalo this summer and have now missed out on doing so, then they would, presumably, now be looking at another potential winger to sign if they want to bring in someone who plays in that position.

Do you think Leeds need to sign a winger this summer?

Yes

Yes

No

No

In our view, with the new season set to kick off this month and the deadline for the current summer transfer window also on the horizon, if Leeds are aiming to sign a winger this summer, then they will need to get a move on to bring a new face in.

However, in our view, considering how Leeds currently have the likes of Raphinha, Jack Harrison, Helder Costa and Ian Poveda in their squad that play on the wings, we feel that the club should reconsider whether they need to sign a new winger this summer at all.
